A Voice in the Wind: Mark of the Lion #1 Review
I had the Mark of the Lion series in my home for about a year before I finally opened the firt book. They changed my life, each one. Not only did they spark a love for reading that I have now, but sparked my faith as well. I often refer to Hadassah and pray for her devotion and faith. The first time I read the books (yes, I read them again about 5 years later) I didn't like the third one as much as the first two...the 2nd time I read them I almost enjoyed the 3rd book more! If you buy the first book, be sure to purchase the second with it..you will want it right there after you finish the first book (with tears and shock).
A Voice in the Wind: Mark of the Lion #1 Overview
Torn by her love for a handsome aristocrat, a young slave
girl clings to her faith in a living God for deliverance from
the forces of a decadent Rome. Hadassah embodies the
position of Christians everywhere — showing Christ’s light
in a dark world.

Francine Rivers is a great author. - Mary Beth Hernandez - Princeton, wv USA
She does a lot of research so she can add detail to her stories. We have enjoyed reading this while traveling.
Christian Fiction at its Finest - agoldstein -
After traveling to Rome this summer, I was interested in the book to get a better idea of ancient Rome before the fall of the empire. Francine Rivers obviously did a lot of research for her book. Her characters and story were totally captivating, I didn't want to put down the book, but I didn't want it to end either. I had a little difficulty with the violence at times, but I know people were very violent during that time period. Francine did a wonderful job depicting the consequences of her characters decisions.
